Your Campus Chaplains

Chaplains offer all sorts of programs and services: book discussion groups, worship opportunities, communal meals, pastoral care, education, etc.

The Laurier chaplains want to be a dynamic presence on campus and be responsive to the particular needs and interests of the students, faculty, and staff that work there.

Basically, that means that if you’re interested in a particular aspect of your faith, or have big questions, or are looking for community, the chaplains are here to help!

International Study Tours

The Chaplains office sponsors annual experiences in settings all over the world. These unique experiences include time in Canadian settings as well as overseas. Please see the Study Tour page for more information on past and upcoming trips.

Social Justice Initiatives 

The chaplains sponsor social justice initiatives and seek to raise awareness of ethical and moral issues that are both local and global. We’ve sponsored events dealing hunger, human trafficking, sexuality, racial justice, and peacemaking and conflict resolution

Worship and the Practice of Faith

The chaplains offer worship opportunities on campus and at local churches. We also sponsor events that are in keeping with the Christian calendar, like a Shrove Tuesday charity pancake sale, and a Lenten fast.
Unstructured Conversation Chaplains like to sponsor events and happenings on campus. But even more so, we like to meet with students, staff, and faculty, and talk. The topics of conversation can be big or small. We like to encourage theologically-minded conversations, and chat about the relationship between faith and learning. We’ve found that by being partners in conversation and dialogue, we grow the most in our understanding and knowledge of creation.
